During the summer, students are generally assigned to one of our three major practice areas – business law, intellectual property or advocacy.
The Business Law rotation will include exposure to most, but perhaps not all, areas of business law, which includes general corporate/commercial, technology, tax, energy, corporate finance, financial services, real estate and environmental law. If you are interested in specific areas of business law, we will certainly do our best to give you exposure to those areas.
Similarly, the Advocacy Rotation will include exposure to most areas of our litigation practice, which includes commercial litigation, banking litigation, employment and labour law, insurance and professional liability, product liability, health law and class actions.
And finally, our Intellectual Property practice covers areas such as patents, trademarks, copyright, industrial design and advertising.
For more information on all Gowlings' practice areas, please visit www.gowlings.com.
Gowlings Toronto provides a comprehensive seminar program for its summer students. And as part of the Gowlings Toronto social program, our summer students enjoy a range of activities and social events. For instance, the 2009 summer students will enjoy a night out at Fionn MacCool's, participate in a number of charity events, and see the play "The Harder They Come".
