	Over the past year, I have had the privilege of meeting and working with many bright and interesting individuals. From the beginning of my articles I have been made to feel welcome. I have enjoyed the collegial atmosphere and the mutual respect displayed throughout the firm. It was the people that attracted me to Gowlings, and I have not been disappointed. Though there were ample stressful moments during my articles, there was always someone to guide me though the tough times. The support staff really are the backbone of this firm and they went the extra mile to help me out when I needed it. It seems also that the professionals at Gowlings have long memories and remember exactly what the articling year is like.

	Several factors should be considered when one decides what firm they want to article with. For me, those factors included diversity of work and clients, an atmosphere conducive to learning and growth, approachable professionals who are genuinely interested in the development of students and a support network of resources that will provide me with the tools to succeed. I made the choice to article with Gowlings because I believed it would provide me with these things I was looking for. After almost a full year of articles, I know I made the right choice. Throughout the year I have been exposed to a variety of interesting work on both the solicitor and litigation sides of practice, and have been involved in all aspects of files. In addition, the resources that are available to students at Gowlings provide all of the tools one needs to succeed throughout the articling year. Finally, the best thing about Gowlings is the people; everyone at Gowlings is truly interested in my development as a lawyer and that has been the most rewarding experience. I know that this firm was the right choice for me, and I look forward to continuing my career at Gowlings here in Calgary. 	Gowlings Calgary was my first choice of firms for articles. I was intrigued by the firm culture, especially after I spent my articling interview talking about my interests in Hip Hop music, travel and volunteer work. Throughout my articles Gowlings professionals and staff have demonstrated that the life-work balance is an integral aspect of the firm culture and success.
